The sport of Disc Golf is played similar to traditional ball golf. The growing sport
is also known as Frisbee Golf, Frolf, or even Disk Golf--but most people refer to the game as Disc Golf. Disc golf was formalized as a sport more than 30 years ago. The sport of disc
golf is governed by the Professional Disc Golf Association (also known as the PDGA). Over 2300 disc golf courses exist in the United States, with over 2700 worldwide. Disc golf players throw discs, which are
similar to Frisbees but are smaller discs made especially for the game. Disc golf discs consist of drivers, mid-ranges, and putters similar to ball
golf. The golf discs are thrown from a tee pad area to a disc golf target, or disc golf basket. The goal is to finish a hole with the least number of
throws by putting your disc into the target, or basket.
